What is a tech pack?
A tech pack (technical package) is a spec sheet that tells the factory every detail needed to make your garment: measurements, materials, construction, branding and packaging.
The more precise it is, the fewer revision rounds you pay for, and the closer the first sample lands to what you imagined.
What to include in a tech pack
A complete tech pack leaves nothing to assumption. At minimum it should contain:
- Technical flat sketches (front/back, callouts)
- Measurement spec / points of measure with tolerances
- Bill of materials (BOM): fabric, trims, thread, labels
- Fabric details: composition, GSM, finish
- Colours with Pantone references
- Print/embroidery artwork, placement and sizing
- Labels, hangtags and packaging specs
- Size range and grading
